Helen is the Founder, Artistic Director and Co-CEO of In Between Time.
Helen is an explorer. She believes from the bottom of her heart that art and artists are vital and that in creativity lies the solution to so many of our personal, societal and day to day challenges. Always open and learning, Helen is inspired by the myriad of possibilities that unfold when artists and audiences come together. You are just as likely to find Helen working with artists in a forest or a cave system as a theatre or an art gallery. She is a passionate advocate for live art, a supporter of equity and human rights and her commitment to these values plays out in the work that she and In Between Time produces. Helen is a founding member of Live Art UK and her work as an Artist, Festival Director, Producer, Teacher, Writer and Speaker has been experienced all over the world. She passionately believes Bristol deserves a leading cultural programme that epitomizes its independent spirit and that represents the rich diversity of lived experiences of her home city.
Helen is In Between Time’s Co-CEO, supporting our tiny but mighty team to thrive so we can collaborate with artists, people and audiences to tell amazing stories that explore live art as a tactic for change.
With a background in engagement, Helen is passionate about democratising leadership and collaboration, seeing audiences as partners in a shared journey of cultural enrichment. She believes organisational relevance lies in discovering new voices and being open to be changed by them.
Helen currently sits on the Board of Directors for Bristol Festivals.
