'The concept of performativity – Live Art's central tenet - is now so commonplace in public discourse that I Tina Brown recently referred to Donald Trump as a performance artist on Channel 4 News. I don’t know who is more insulted…' LOIS KEIDAN, THE GUARDIAN
Live art is known for its risk-taking and fearless approach. Using live art as our global tactic and artistic strategy artists take on some of the world’s real, brutal, complex, beautiful, silly questions.
For the In Between Time Summit we return to the question How Can Live Art Unf**k The World. A world that, like at no other time, is so desperately in need of unf**king. Chaired by Anthony Roberts (Director, Colchester Arts Centre) this unconventional panel begins with a provocation from artist Noemi Lakmaier, followed by interventions by members of the Live Art UK network of programmers, producers and presenters including Pelin Basaran (Contact Theatre), Matt Burman (Cambridge Junction), Andy Field (Forest Fringe), Roise Goan (Artsadmin), Annie Lloyd (Compass), David Sheppeard (Marlborough Theatre). Each has three minutes to respond to the question. with a provocation, example or description – whatever they damn choose.
Live Art UK is a national network, supporting and developing the Live Art infrastructure for the benefit of artists, presenters and audiences.
This event is part of the In Between Time Summit Day 1 programme. The event is included in the 1-Day Ticket or 3-Day Summit Pass and cannot be booked separately.
