IBT17 Bristol International Festival

STAND UP STAND OUT

8-12 Feb 2017

‘Bristol festival leaves its mark on audiences with personal, political shows’ The Guardian

IBT17 invited audiences and artists to join us and take a stand.

IBT17 presented live art, theatre, music, dance, exhibitions, talks, activism and clubs, bringing together audiences from Bristol, the UK and the world to celebrate art and its power to make change.

IBT17 was also a special year for us as we launched our International Showcase presenting 22 exceptional British live artists offering a version of the UK rich with a diversity of voices. Showcase artists were selected by an expert UK panel and performances were open to everyone.

200 delegates attended the showcase from Bristol, Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham, London, Newcastle, Brighton, Cardiff, Jersey, Folkstone, Belfast, Brussels, Dublin, Athens, Ljubljana, Helsinki, Porto, Riga, Friebourg, Melbourne, Sydney, Tasmania, Hong Kong, Kyoto, New York, Seattle, Seoul, Shanghai, Penang, Vancouver.

40 international delegates were subsided by Arts Council England to develop new global markets for UK artists.

‘Thank you to all of the IBT17 artists whose work I encountered, it has left an indelible mark.’ Joyce Rosario, Push Festival (Vancouver)
