IBT21 THE RUPTURE
AN EXPANDED ARTS FESTIVAL FOR THE FUTURE
“Another world is not only possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day, I can hear her breathing.” ARUNDHATI ROY
We’ve gathered together our reflections on all we learnt last year, the year our festival expanded from five days to eight months… We’d love to share some of them with you. Find our musings, data and words in our Review of the Year, hopefully, it will astound you as much as it did us.
In 2021, for our 9th international biennial festival we did things a little differently. We welcomed you to join us for an expanded festival starting in May and continuing in a series of special artworks and events throughout the year.
We invited you to celebrate the incredible resilience and creativity of artists.
Across oceans and time zones, at home, on screens, in theatres and outdoors, IBT 21 blended live and digital performances, international conversations, encounters with strangers, forest diving, and parties for the end of the world.
Our full programme included urgent artistic voices and UK premieres by world leading artists Mammalian Diving Reflex, Mamoru Iriguchi, Muneera Pilgrim and Narcissister.
In Between Time invited you to grasp this moment with us, as new possibilities for how we work and live came into view.
